Uzbekistan will allocate 1.6 trillion soums to improve infrastructure of economic zones

On April 27, the President held a meeting regarding the investment projects being implemented in free economic and small industrial zones.

The President signed a decree "On measures for the further development of the engineering and communication infrastructure of special economic and small industrial zones". According to the document, this year 1 trillion 600 billion soums will be allocated to improve the infrastructure of the FEZ and the SIZ. In particular, 584 billion soums will be allocated for the construction of electricity, gas and water supply, sewerage and roads in 17 free economic zones, another 395 billion soums will be allocated for the development of 145 small industrial zones".
